PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andy Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janusz Lanus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lanus moves to clinch but Gillespie breaks away
and Gillespie makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Lanus wants to clinch but Gillespie slips to the side
and Gillespie counters with a nice body kick.
Lanus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gillespie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lanus misses with a head kick.
Lanus looks to clinch
and Gillespie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gillespie is looking to land body kicks.
Lanus misses with a series of wild punches.
Gillespie swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A slapping body kick lands there for Lanus.
Gillespie throws a body punch but Lanus moves out of range.
Gillespie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lanus moves away.
Gillespie lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Lanus tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gillespie counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lanus is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Lanus is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lanus walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Lanus limp body while Gillespie jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
