The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byers is looking to clinch.
Byers wants to clinch but Aspanuhkin slips to the side

and Aspanuhkin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Aspanuhkin.

Byers breaks from the clinch.
Aspanuhkin throws a half hearted mid kick.
Aspanuhkin stuffs the takedown.
Aspanuhkin shoots for a takedown but Byers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Aspanuhkin dives in and grabs Byers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Byers pushes down on Aspanuhkin's head and hops out.
Byers darts in looking for a takedown but Aspanuhkin gets double underhooks and turns Byers into the cage.

Byers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aspanuhkin walks away with a smile on his face. Byers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Aspanuhkin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Byers circles away quickly and effectively.

A bone on bone clash there as Byers blocks the leg kick.
Aspanuhkin shoots in but Byers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aspanuhkin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Byers.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Byers is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kurul Aspanuhkin will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Byers tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Byers wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Byers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Aspanuhkin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Byers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aspanuhkin has a takedown stuffed.
Aspanuhkin is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Aspanuhkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Byers sprawls well. He's pushed Aspanuhkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dino Byers will probably get the nod.
