The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danielson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Alvarado goes for a double leg but Danielson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Danielson continues to drive forward.
Alvarado is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Alvarado is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Danielson is keeping busy.
Danielson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Alvarado gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Danielson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Danielson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Alvarado fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Danielson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alvarado.

Alvarado has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Danielson finds it's way round the side to connect with Alvarado's head.

It looks like Lawrence Alvarado has been cut.
Ray Danielson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Danielson gets tackled into the cage by Alvarado. Alvarado maintains the clinch.

Danielson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Danielson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alvarado is proving hard to escape from.
