Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitsuyo Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Moneybags!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda shoots in looking for a takedown. Moneybags tries to sprawl out of it but Maeda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moneybags manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maeda drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Maeda throws a big elbow that misses.
Maeda working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Moneybags preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moneybags looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maeda is one step ahead there.

Maeda bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moneybags's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moneybags has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Maeda throws an elbow that misses. Moneybags uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maeda's guard. Nice move by Moneybags!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maeda is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Maeda postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Moneybags looks a forlorn figure.

Moneybags felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moneybags is on top in guard.

Moneybags misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mitsuyo Maeda will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

John Moneybags comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Maeda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
