PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Malaipet Sasiprapa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sasiprapa comes to the cage accompanied by Malaipet the Diamond. Kuroda Atsushi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Malaipet Sasiprapa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atsushi throws a leg kick
and Sasiprapa counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kuroda Atsushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick from Atsushi misses.
Sasiprapa throws a leg kick but Atsushi sees it coming and moves out of range.
Sasiprapa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sasiprapa dodges the punch combination from Atsushi.

Atsushi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Atsushi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sasiprapa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Horrible takedown by Atsushi or perhaps it was just good defense by Sasiprapa which made him look bad.

Atsushi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Atsushi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sasiprapa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

It looks like Kuroda Atsushi has been cut.
Atsushi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sasiprapa walks away with a smile on his face. Atsushi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Malaipet Sasiprapa.
I think Sasiprapa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Malaipet Sasiprapa rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
