Hendricks is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Nightrain. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaeger connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hendricks momentarily.
A telegraphed right hand from Jaeger misses the target.
Josef Jaeger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendricks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jaeger throws a head kick that misses.
Jaeger has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ELITE GYM 48CAP in the buildup to the fight.
Hendricks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jaeger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hendricks somewhat.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hendricks working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Hendricks takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
