These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joikhaaja shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

It looks like Georges might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Georges wants to control from the top but Joikhaaja keeps moving.

Joikhaaja is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Georges stays in close to Joikhaaja's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Guy Georges hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Joikhaaja fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Georges sprawls well initially but Joikhaaja persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've been hearing that Joikhaaja has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Georges has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Joikhaaja. Oh but Georges has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Joikhaaja goes limp - he's gone! Georges jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
