Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blaine Woodard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cire Rouge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rouge comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gene Kelly - Singing in the rain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blaine Woodard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cire Rouge!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rouge closes this distance looking for a takedown but Woodard circles away.

Woodard closes the distance and clinches.
Rouge is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rouge is trying to break the clinch but Woodard is controlling him.
Woodard content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Woodard ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Woodard no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Woodard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rouge is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woodard has a closed guard, preventing Rouge from standing up.

Woodard has a closed guard, preventing Rouge from standing up.

Woodard is working an open guard so Rouge takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Woodard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rouge as he jumps to the side.

Woodard instigates a clinch.

Rouge has Woodard pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rouge pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Woodard tumbling to the mat - Rouge dives into Woodard's guard.

Rouge is looking to stand up but Woodard won't let him.
Rouge stands and throws Woodard's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Rouge is trying to move to mount but Woodard reverses beautifully and ends up in Rouge's guard.
Woodard is pushing down on Rouge's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rouge is fighting to maintain full guard but Woodard has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rouge pushes Woodard off looking to stand but Woodard dives back in and keeps control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Woodard wants to pass to mount but Rouge is defending the position.
Rouge is looking to get back to full guard here but Woodard has managed to pass to side control instead.

A close round but Cire Rouge will probably get the nod.

A head kick misses from Rouge.
Woodard stuffs the takedown attempt from Rouge. Rouge gets slowly back to his feet.

Rouge darts in and clinches Woodard up against the cage.

Rouge pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

It looks like Blaine Woodard has been cut.
Woodard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rouge avoids the head kick by Woodard.
Woodard takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Rouge sizes up Woodard with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rouge tries to clinch up.
Blaine Woodard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rouge is looking to clinch but Woodard is avoiding it.
Woodard leaves Rouge with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Rouge.
Rouge misses with a head kick.
Rouge fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rouge displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Woodard.

Woodard is looking to clinch.
Woodard shoots in for a takedown but Rouge shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rouge goes for a double leg but Woodard avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Woodard continues to drive forward.

Woodard turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Rouge tries to improve position but can't.
Rouge sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Rouge trying to control but Woodard postures up.
Woodard is taking a breather. Rouge says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rouge tries to kick Woodard off but Woodard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rouge is not content to let Woodard control the position.
Woodard is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rouge is looking to improve his position but Woodard isn't that keen on the idea.
Woodard avoids the attempt from Rouge to control.
Woodard controlling from mount.
Woodard is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Rouge keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Cire Rouge has got the better of the ground game so far.

Woodard can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rouge is looking to escape.

Woodard is landing with some decent strikes but Rouge is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Woodard moves out of range as Rouge throws a body kick.
Rouge stuffs the takedown.
Rouge scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Woodard doesn't seem bothered though.

Rouge fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Woodard to the ground. Rouge is now in Woodard's guard.
Woodard lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rouge!
Woodard wants to control the pace but Rouge is squirming around nicely.
Rouge gets back to half guard.
Woodard is looking to stall here but Rouge recovers full guard.

Woodard throws a big right hand that misses.

Woodard prevents Rouge from getting back to his feet.
Rouge takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Woodard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Woodard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Woodard passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Woodard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Woodard throws an elbow but Rouge slips to the side and avoids it well.

Woodard throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rouge because Woodard loaded up on that one.
Rouge bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Woodard wants to sweep but no luck.

Rouge wants to control from the top but Woodard keeps moving.

I would just about give that final round to Cire Rouge.
I've got Rouge winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
