The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
deRobinet connects with a solid leg kick.
deRobinet throws a head kick that misses
and Margallo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps deRobinet thinking.
deRobinet does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Margallo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Broyeur deRobinet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Margallo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
deRobinet tries to score with a low kick but Margallo moves his leg out of the way.
deRobinet throws a right hand that Margallo ducks under and follows up with a left that Margallo also avoids with ease.
Margallo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
deRobinet wants to clinch.
deRobinet lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
deRobinet is looking to clinch but Margallo is avoiding it.
Margallo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
This has been an exciting period of action!
deRobinet throws a sloppy head kick and Margallo moves out of range easily.
deRobinet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Margallo catches deRobinet napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends deRobinet crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Margallo raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
