Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clark Griswald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark Griswald will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Griswald!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griswald defends it nicely.
Kent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Griswald tries a head kick but it misses.

so Kent counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kent won't allow Griswald to sweep him here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Kent counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Griswald's guard now.

Kent wants to stand but Griswald has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kent looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kent tries to stand and escape but Griswald is controlling the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griswald is trying to get back to full guard.
Griswald wants to control but Kent is keeping busy.

We're going to have a standup here because Todd Kent wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Griswald has Kent up against the cage in a clinch.
Kent wants a takedown.

Griswald tries to land knees in the clinch but Kent avoids the damage to the body.

Griswald is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kent is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Griswald to the mat. Griswald regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kent not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Griswald is looking to stand up but Kent isn't so interested in that idea.
Griswald really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kent wants to control from the top but Griswald keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kent drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Kent are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kent remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Griswald is trying to improve his position.

Griswald is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kent can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Griswald is looking to escape.

Kent jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Griswald manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kent scores with a couple of short elbows.
You can see the frustration on Griswald's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Griswald looks to move to half guard but instead Kent has passed into mount! Damn!

Kent with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Kent wants to control the pace but Griswald is squirming around nicely.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Griswald blocks a head kick by Kent.
Griswald shoots for a double leg takedown but Kent sprawls well. He's pushed Griswald's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Todd Kent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griswald is looking to clinch.
Kent swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Griswald counters with a left to the body.
Griswald will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kent perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Griswald is looking for a sweep. Kent is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kent is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Todd Kent.
Kent tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Griswald swivels and escapes.
Kent shoots in looking for a takedown but Griswald manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kent's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Griswald bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kent's head backwards.

Kent tries to work over Griswald's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Griswald is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kent to keep the fight standing.
Griswald can't break the clinch.
Kent trying to stall but Griswald improves his position.
Kent seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Griswald is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Griswald is looking for a takedown.
Griswald managing to block the knees to the body from Kent.

Griswald has Kent pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kent manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kent just leaning against Griswald, taking a breather.
Kent seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Griswald doesn't manage to clinch there - Kent circles away.

Kent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Griswald gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
