Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jannis Arvanitidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Mannetosen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mannetosen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Krav kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manny Mannetosen!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arvanitidis catches Mannetosen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mannetosen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Arvanitidis.
Mannetosen pushes Arvanitidis away with a front kick.
Arvanitidis misses with a hook.
Mannetosen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Arvanitidis moves away from the strike by Mannetosen.
Arvanitidis misses with a double jab
and Mannetosen counters with a straight right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mannetosen.
Arvanitidis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mannetosen, right into the meat.
We've been told by Arvanitidis's head coaches at Vicious Striking that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mannetosen connects with a body shot.
Arvanitidis blocks a leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arvanitidis throws an overhand right that lands on Mannetosen's shoulder, as Mannetosen tries to avoid the shot.
Arvanitidis misses with a combination
and Mannetosen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Arvanitidis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mannetosen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Arvanitidis sees it coming and avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Arvanitidis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mannetosen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Mannetosen lands a damaging elbow.
Arvanitidis is looking to control Mannetosen's arms but Mannetosen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Arvanitidis has his back to the cage.
Arvanitidis stalling against the cage.
Mannetosen swings wildly with an uppercut but Arvanitidis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mannetosen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Arvanitidis avoids it.
Arvanitidis takes an elbow to the forehead.
Arvanitidis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Arvanitidis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Arvanitidis does no damage.
Arvanitidis slips under a jab.
Mannetosen dodges the punch combination from Arvanitidis.
Arvanitidis misses with a hook.
Mannetosen throws a nice outside leg kick.
Arvanitidis throws a combination that misses
and Mannetosen counters with a straight right hand.
Mannetosen lands with an uppercut that bounces Arvanitidis off the cage and back into range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Arvanitidis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mannetosen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Arvanitidis is rocked!
Jannis Arvanitidis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arvanitidis throws a right hand that Mannetosen ducks under and follows up with a left that Mannetosen also avoids with ease.
Oh Arvanitidis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mannetosen misses with a two punch combination.
Mannetosen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mannetosen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Arvanitidis's head backwards.
Arvanitidis walks straight into a right hand from Mannetosen - that's dropped him! Mannetosen jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Arvanitidis from any more punishment! Arvanitidis complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Manny Mannetosen! Manny Mannetosen retains his featherweight title!
