Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pearson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Five Finger Death Punch White Knuckles. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson throws a front kick aimed at Mitchell's knee but Mitchell avoids it well.
Pearson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mitchell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pearson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mitchell under the eye.
Pearson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mitchell is out of range and Pearson settles back down.
Mitchell scores with a hook to the body. Pearson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A clash of legs there as Mitchell blocks the low kick.
Pearson throws out a leg kick but Mitchell moves out of range and Pearson only half commits.
Pearson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mitchell connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pearson scrambles back to his feet.

Pearson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Mitchell scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Pearson manages to mount him!
Mitchell tries to reverse the position but Pearson maintains control.
Pearson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Pearson looking to break Mitchell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mitchell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pearson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Pearson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mitchell has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Our spies down at at Main Event Gym inform us that Pearson has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
