Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Summers comes to the cage accompanied by Meatloaf: In The Land Of The Pigs. Petrenko comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bro Hymm/ Pennywise kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 3, fighting out of Hilo, Dylan Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dmitry Petrenko!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Petrenko throws a combination. Summers tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Summers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petrenko.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Petrenko has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Petrenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Summers circles away.
Summers blocks a head kick by Petrenko.
Summers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Petrenko defends well and Summers ends up having to push Petrenko into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Petrenko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Summers has him pressed against the cage.

Summers blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Petrenko wants to get back to striking at distance but Summers won't allow it.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Summers lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Petrenko backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Dylan Summers has been cut.
Petrenko has Summers pushed against the cage.

Summers is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Petrenko can't fight it off and eventually Summers manages to take the fight to the floor. Petrenko looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrenko is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Summers works over Petrenko with some ground and pound from guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dmitry Petrenko hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Petrenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Summers tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Petrenko makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Summers.
Summers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Petrenko is fending him off so far but Summers persists. Nope, Petrenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Summers tries for a takedown but Petrenko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan Summers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Petrenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Summers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Summers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Summers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petrenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Dylan Summers will probably get the nod.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Petrenko.
Petrenko postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Petrenko is looking to take a break and control but Summers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Petrenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dylan Summers will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Summers lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Petrenko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Petrenko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Summers is looking to wear down Petrenko with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Summers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Petrenko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Summers is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Petrenko.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Summers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dylan Summers decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Dmitry Petrenko stepped up to the mic, saying 'We're one and one now I'm thinking trilogy'.
