Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thaddeus Bender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hammer Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Thaddeus Bender has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Face gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bender really is a fat lump.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Face.
Bender dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Bender is trying to push Face away but Face has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Face blocks a body shot from Bender.
Face lands an elbow just above Bender 's eye.

It looks like Thaddeus Bender has been cut.

Face prevents Bender from breaking the clinch.
Bender avoids the elbow strike from Face, against the cage.
Bender takes an elbow to the temple.

Face manages to break the clinch.
Face misses with a shot to the body
and Bender counters with a three punch combo that has Face backing up. Face nods at Bender to acknowledge the strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bender tries a knee to the head but Face blocks it.
Bender is working Face over against the cage.

Face's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bender slips a jab and a cross from Face.
Face scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Thaddeus Bender's cut is getting worse.
Bender fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Face avoids it really well and circles away.
Face takes a swing at Bender's ribcage but misses.

Face fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bender, pushing him back against the cage.
Bender tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Face smiles and moves away.
Bender fails to land with a series of punches.
A low kick from Bender is predictable there
and Face counters with a slapping leg kick.

Bender dives in for a single leg takedown but Face sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thaddeus Bender. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Face has Bender pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Face pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bender tumbling to the mat - Face dives into Bender's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Face is stalling in the full guard.
Face throws a strike but Bender rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Face looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bender has picked Face up and slammed him! Face can't keep hold of the triangle and Bender manages to pass to side control!

Bender decides to stand back up. Bender steps back and let's Face get back to his feet.
Face slaps away a takedown attempt from Bender, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Face looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bender tries to close the distance and clinch up but Face swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Bender counters with a straight right hand.
Face throws a head kick that misses.
Bender is looking to clinch but Face is avoiding it.
Face feints and then cracks Bender's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bender down.

Face shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Face showed some decent athleticism there.

Bender tries to get to full guard but Face has control of the leg.
Face trying to control the action but Bender is working from the bottom.
Bender is trying to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Face seems content to control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bender is looking to control Face's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bender avoid being mounted?
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Face not landing any meaningful shots this time.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A head kick misses from Face.
Bender dodges the punch combination from Face.
Face dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bender. That did some damage!

Bender has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Face shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bender sprawls well. Bender wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Face gets slowly back to his feet.

Bender is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Face can't control as he wanted to and Bender manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Face seems to be working for a kimura but Bender defends the submission attempt.

Face is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bender is just riding it out for now. Face eventually gives up the hold.

Bender is looking for a sweep. Face is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Face decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hammer Face has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bender tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Face presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Face is trying to control. Bender wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hammer Face is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
