Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Britt Vang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Vacchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Britt Vang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Vacchi!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vacchi as he jumps to the side.
Vacchi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vang.
Vang tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vacchi defends well and Vang ends up having to push Vacchi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Britt Vang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Vang just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vacchi's brow.

Vacchi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vacchi manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vacchi tries to score with some ground and pound. Vang controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Vang can't do much from the bottom here.
Vang is letting Vacchi control him for a moment.
Vacchi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Vacchi lands an elbow.

Vacchi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Vang's legs.
Vang struggling a bit here.
Vang is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Vacchi tries to stand but Vang controls the position and pulls Vacchi into his guard.
Vacchi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vang is trying to control the position but Vacchi postures up.
Vacchi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Vang controls Vacchi momentarily but Vacchi frees himself.
Vacchi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vacchi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vang.

and Vacchi counters by clinching up.

Vacchi has Vang pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vacchi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vang tumbling to the mat - Vacchi dives into Vang's guard.
Vang is breathing heavily.
Vang looking to control.
Vacchi working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Vacchi controls from within his opponent's guard.
Vacchi wants to stand but Vang is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vacchi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Vacchi shoots in and gets a takedown into Vang's guard.

Vacchi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vang is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vang has escaped and now he's on top!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vacchi managing to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vacchi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vang is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Vacchi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vang blocks a head kick by Vacchi.
Vang has a takedown stuffed.
Vacchi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vang pinned against the cage. Vang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vacchi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vang is fending him off so far but Vacchi persists. Nope, Vang circles away and we're back to standing.

and Vang counters with a solid body kick.
Vang tries to clinch up but Vacchi circles away and keeps his distance.
Vang is looking to clinch but Vacchi is avoiding it.
Vang tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Vacchi counters with a two punch combo.
Vang wants to clinch up but Vacchi keeps it at a distance.

Vang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vacchi shoots in but Vang avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Britt Vang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Vacchi.

Vacchi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Vacchi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Vang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vacchi pulls his head out easily.

Vacchi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vang wants to sweep but Vacchi has passed to side control!
Vang stops Vacchi from passing to mount.
Vang looking for a sweep but Vacchi has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Vang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Vacchi controlling his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vacchi manages to capitalize on a mistake by Vang to take his back!
Gabriel Vacchi has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vang tries to break free.
Vacchi not allowing Vang to control his hands.

Vang defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Vang tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vacchi is landing with strikes. Vang can't take much more of this.
Vacchi is landing with strikes from the back.
Vacchi cracks Vang with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Vang from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Vang is taking damage to the body and head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vacchi biding his time, looking for the opening.
Vacchi controlling well, preventing Vang from escaping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gabriel Vacchi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vang wants a takedown but no success here.
Vacchi is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vang to keep the fight standing.

Vacchi is adopting a defensive guard.
Vacchi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Vacchi is looking for a triangle but Vang pushes his legs off easily.

Vacchi pulls Vang in close to prevent any damage.

Vacchi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vacchi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vang is one step ahead there.
Vacchi controls Vang momentarily but Vang frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vang fails in his attempt to clinch.
Vacchi moves out of range of the body kick.
Vang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vacchi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vacchi as he jumps to the side.

Vacchi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vacchi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Vacchi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vacchi trying to control the pace.
Vang wants to get back to full guard.

Vacchi wants to work for an arm triangle but Vang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Britt Vang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gabriel Vacchi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Vacchi content to control rather than advance.
