Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cap Roundtree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Yakiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakiyama is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Enya - Adiemus. Cap Roundtree has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cap Roundtree!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshi Yakiyama!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roundtree takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Yakiyama works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Yakiyama shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Yakiyama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roundtree looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Yakiyama tries to advance to mount but Roundtree instead regains half guard.
Yakiyama perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yakiyama wants to pass the guard but Roundtree is defending well.
Yakiyama content to control rather than advance.
Roundtree is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yakiyama wants to pass the guard but Roundtree is defending well.

Yakiyama is trying to control the action in half guard but Roundtree is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Yakiyama working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Roundtree keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Yakiyama shoots in and drives through. Roundtree sprawls well.
Yakiyama shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roundtree defends it nicely.
Cap Roundtree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Yakiyama.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yoshi Yakiyama wasn't active enough on the ground.

Roundtree is looking to chop away at Yakiyama's legs.
Roundtree throws a low kick but Yakiyama avoids it.

Yakiyama feints and as Roundtree raises his hands in defense, Yakiyama changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yakiyama seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Yakiyama fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roundtree, pushing him back against the cage.
Yakiyama is trying to drag Roundtree to the mat but Roundtree just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Yakiyama is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Roundtree to keep the fight standing.
Yakiyama tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Roundtree's elbow.
Roundtree prevents the takedown attempt.
Cap Roundtree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Yakiyama.

Roundtree is trying to break free.
Yakiyama fails to pull guard.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Yakiyama jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roundtree walks away with a smile on his face. Yakiyama gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Roundtree buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cap Roundtree is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Yakiyama shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Well, if Yakiyama is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Roundtree wants to get back to full guard.
Yakiyama wants to pass to mount but Roundtree is defending the position.
Roundtree wants to improve his position but Yakiyama is controlling well.
Yakiyama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roundtree does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Yakiyama closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yakiyama lands in his opponent's guard.

Roundtree wants to control but Yakiyama is keeping busy.

Yakiyama shoots in but Roundtree avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Roundtree stuffs the takedown attempt from Yakiyama. Yakiyama gets slowly back to his feet.
Cap Roundtree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Yakiyama.
Roundtree throws a right and a left that both miss.

Yakiyama manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roundtree on his heels. He'll look to pass Roundtree's guard now, I'm sure.
Yakiyama sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Roundtree's guard.

Yakiyama is taking a breather. Roundtree says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Yakiyama tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roundtree swivels and escapes.

Roundtree fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yakiyama has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Yakiyama tries to close the distance and clinch but Roundtree swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Roundtree takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Roundtree throws a head kick but Yakiyama moves out of range.
Yakiyama goes for a double leg but Roundtree avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roundtree continues to drive forward.
Yakiyama is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Roundtree gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Roundtree breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Yoshi Yakiyama is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Roundtree goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yakiyama in particular looking to stall.
Roundtree misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Yoshi Yakiyama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Yakiyama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
