Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John McGuirk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rasputin Briar!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGuirk is defended easily by Briar.
A head kick misses from McGuirk.
McGuirk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Briar as he jumps to the side.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Briar has eaten all the pies!
McGuirk lands with a good body shot.
McGuirk throws a one two combo.


It looks like Rasputin Briar has been cut.
McGuirk tries to bum rush Briar with a series of wild strikes but Briar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McGuirk has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Infinity in the buildup to the fight.

McGuirk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McGuirk showed some decent athleticism there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Briar can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McGuirk trying to pass the guard but Briar defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McGuirk stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Briar to get to his feet.
McGuirk lands with a kick to the temple. Briar shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
McGuirk fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John McGuirk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Briar takes a swing at McGuirk's ribcage but misses.
McGuirk tries to clinch but Briar is having none of it.
Rasputin Briar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGuirk.
Briar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Briar wants it to stay on the feet.
McGuirk tries a head kick but it misses.

McGuirk sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Briar to the ground! McGuirk dives into full mount looking to finish!


Briar is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGuirk postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Briar bigstyle! Two more strikes land for McGuirk and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John McGuirk!
A less than humble John McGuirk misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
