PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ilafat Urskilz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Noir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noir has chosen Gary Numan - Are Friends Electric as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ilafat Urskilz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Vince Noir!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noir leaves Urskilz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Urskilz takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Urskilz gets caught napping as Noir dives in and scores a takedown. Urskilz manages to retain guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Urskilz is pulling down on Noir's head to control his posture.
Urskilz keeping moving, preventing Noir from controlling successfully.
Urskilz has his hands on Noir's head, controlling the position.
Noir landing with the ground and pound.
Urskilz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Noir advances to half guard.
Noir not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Noir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Urskilz keeps working.
Urskilz controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Urskilz is pressing down on Noir's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Noir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Noir working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Urskilz's head.

Urskilz looking for a guillotine here but Noir defends easily.

Urskilz wants to sweep but no luck.
Noir makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Noir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Noir wants to control from the top but Urskilz keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Noir with a flurry of punches that miss.
Noir stopping the sweep attempt from Urskilz.
Noir throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Urskilz trying to keep a closed guard but Noir is proving a slippery customer.
Noir lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Noir is stalling in the full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Urskilz is trying to control the position but Noir postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ilafat Urskilz.
Urskilz cracks Noir with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Crunch! Noir slams his shin into Urskilz's torso.
Urskilz has his takedown stuffed

and Noir counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Noir.
Urskilz misses with a knee to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Urskilz tries to stall but Noir uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Urskilz tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Noir avoids it.
A right hook to the body lands for Noir.
Noir tries to break free but Urskilz pushes him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Urskilz wants to break the clinch but can't.

Noir manages to break the clinch.
Noir blocks the body kick.
Urskilz throws a shot from downtown. Noir moves away and avoids it.
Noir moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Noir misses with a kick to the body.
Urskilz is looking to score with low kicks.
Urskilz stuffs the takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Noir has taken the fight to the clinch.
Urskilz has Noir pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Noir manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilafat Urskilz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Urskilz works on Noir's body with a couple of short punches.
Noir misses with a hook to the ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vince Noir dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Noir closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Urskilz to the mat! Urskilz manages to get full guard.

Noir throws a big elbow that misses.
Urskilz wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Noir is now in half guard.
Urskilz wants to improve his position but Noir is controlling well.
Noir is trying to control the action in half guard but Urskilz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Noir thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Urskilz's head.

Urskilz is not content to let Noir control the position.
Noir thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Urskilz is looking to control Noir's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Urskilz avoid being mounted?

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Urskilz looks to land a left hand but Noir moved out of range nicely.
Urskilz avoids the body shot from Noir.
Urskilz throws a shot from downtown. Noir moves away and avoids it.

Noir gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Urskilz to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Noir working for a triangle but Urskilz defends it easily.

Noir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Urskilz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Urskilz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Urskilz has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Noir to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Urskilz is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Noir pulls down on the head and he's put Urskilz to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vince Noir!
During a confident post fight interview, Vince Noir thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
