The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lesnar.
Overeem throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Lesnar shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Overeem manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Overeem on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Overeem tries to get out of the position.
Lesnar throwing strikes from guard but Overeem blocks nicely.
Lesnar lands a couple of digs.

Lesnar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Overeem has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lesnar has managed to get both his arms back between Overeem 's legs - danger averted.

Lesnar throws a big elbow that misses.
Lesnar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Lesnar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Overeem 's guard.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura but Overeem is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lesnar to get the leverage.
Overeem knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lesnar on the ground.
Lesnar works his way into side control.
Overeem takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Overeem tries to bench press Lesnar off him but Lesnar keeps the position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lesnar working his ground and pound in the gym.

Overeem is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Overeem is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Overeem is desperately trying to improve his position but Lesnar has a good base and remains in mount.
