Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Graham Goodwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angel Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez lands a jab-cross combination.
Goodwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Velasquez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Velasquez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Goodwin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Velasquez has control of Goodwin's left arm, preventing Goodwin from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Velasquez holds on and takes a little breather.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Angel Velasquez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Velasquez fails to land the takedown.
Velasquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Velasquez misses with a wild combination.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Goodwin.

Goodwin stands up and beckons Velasquez to his feet.

Velasquez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Goodwin defends it nicely.
Graham Goodwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Velasquez.

Goodwin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Velasquez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Goodwin wants to stand but Velasquez has his arm trapped.
Velasquez on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Goodwin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Velasquez is trying to improve his position.
Velasquez is trying to escape the position but Goodwin is controlling the position.
Goodwin cracks Velasquez with a big elbow.
Goodwin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Goodwin has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Goodwin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Velasquez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goodwin moves to the back position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Goodwin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Velasquez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Velasquez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Goodwin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Velasquez moves out of range as Goodwin throws a body kick.
Velasquez closes the distance and clinches up with Goodwin, looking for a takedown. Velasquez pushes Goodwin against the cage but Goodwin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Goodwin shoots in but Velasquez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Goodwin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Velasquez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goodwin is fending him off so far but Velasquez persists. Nope, Goodwin circles away and we're back to standing.
Velasquez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Goodwin shoots in and bounces Velasquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Goodwin wants to pass the guard but Velasquez is keeping the position.

Velasquez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Goodwin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Velasquez is breathing heavily.
Velasquez throws a nice looking combination but Goodwin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Velasquez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Graham Goodwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Velasquez.

Goodwin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goodwin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Goodwin winds up and cracks Velasquez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Goodwin slows the pace down in half guard.
Goodwin wants to stand up but Velasquez manages to regain full guard.

Velasquez is controlling Goodwin's posture.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Goodwin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We're going to have a standup here because Graham Goodwin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Velasquez shoots in and drives through. Goodwin sprawls well.
Goodwin shoots in for a takedown but Velasquez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Goodwin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Velasquez to the mat! Velasquez manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Velasquez is on top in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goodwin misses with a takedown attempt - Velasquez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Velasquez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Goodwin has Velasquez pressed against the cage, preventing Velasquez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Goodwin jumps into guard, dragging Velasquez to the mat.

Velasquez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Goodwin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Velasquez, into his guard.

Velasquez controls Goodwin momentarily but Goodwin frees himself.
Velasquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Goodwin lands a couple of elbows.
Velasquez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Goodwin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Velasquez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goodwin has Velasquez in his guard.

Goodwin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Velasquez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Velasquez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Goodwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Velasquez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Velasquez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goodwin is fending him off so far but Velasquez persists. Nope, Goodwin circles away and we're back to standing.

Goodwin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Velasquez to the ground. Goodwin is now in Velasquez's guard.
Goodwin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Goodwin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Velasquez for as long as he can get away with.

Goodwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Velasquez is retaining full guard.
Velasquez has a closed guard, preventing Goodwin from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Graham Goodwin.

Velasquez clinches up with Goodwin and pushes him back against the cage.
Angel Velasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Graham Goodwin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Goodwin tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Goodwin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
