The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contras tries to bum rush Speedy with a series of wild strikes but Speedy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Contras!
Speedy misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Contras counters with a three punch combo that has Speedy backing up. Speedy nods at Contras to acknowledge the strikes.

It looks like Pete Speedy has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Speedy. Contras does a little dance to reset his feet.
Speedy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Contras manages to avoid it.
Contras scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Contras throws a series of punches but Speedy avoids them all with ease.
Contras misses with a wild body shot.

Speedy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Contras!
Speedy working the ground and pound but Contras is defending the strikes.
Contras striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Contras wants to control but Speedy postures up.
Speedy fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Speedy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Contras down.

Contras is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Speedy is looking to take a break and control but Contras is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Contras is trying to control Speedy's posture but Speedy avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Contras is trying to buck Speedy off.
Speedy is putting a hurting on Contras here, landing some big shots from side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Speedy scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Contras is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Speedy can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
