Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Kristofferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Zerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konrad Kristofferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Zerra!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zerra cracks Kristofferson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Zerra misses with a wild combination.
Kristofferson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zerra circles away quickly and effectively.
Kristofferson lands a nice shot that snaps Zerra's head back.
Kristofferson misses with a double jab.
Zerra throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kristofferson blocks a head kick by Zerra.
Kristofferson throws a series of punches but Zerra moves out of range.
Kristofferson avoids the head kick by Zerra.
We've been told by Kristofferson's head coaches at MuscleWorks Amsterdam™ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Zerra takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Zerra is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kristofferson.
Zerra misses with the combination.
Kristofferson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kristofferson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kristofferson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zerra connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kristofferson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Zerra rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kristofferson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Zerra scores with the left hand. Kristofferson knows he should have avoided that one.
Kristofferson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kristofferson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kristofferson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zerra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kristofferson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Zerra throwing strikes but missing.
Zerra missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zerra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kristofferson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zerra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kristofferson is keeping the position for now.
Zerra throwing strikes but missing.
Kristofferson keeping moving, preventing Zerra from controlling successfully.

Zerra throws a strike but Kristofferson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Zerra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kristofferson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Zerra is tightening it up a little... Kristofferson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kristofferson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kristofferson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Zerra!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Matt Zerra!
During a confident post fight interview, Matt Zerra thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
