The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kovalev.

Kovalev gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kovalev is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

It looks like Cleveland Cox has been cut.
Kovalev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kovalev lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Cox quite badly. Cox pulls Kovalev in close trying to recover. Kovalev postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Cox on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Cox doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
