The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aguirre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kovalev tries to avoid it but Aguirre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kovalev to the ground. Kovalev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aguirre.
Kovalev lands a big right hand that sends Aguirre crashing to the mat! Kovalev stays standing though and waves Aguirre back to his feet!
It looks like Jon Aguirre has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kovalev fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Aguirre out cold! Brutal finish!
