Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joonas Mustonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmer Octopulus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joonas Mustonen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jimmer Octopulus's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Octopulus jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mustonen swings for the body but Octopulus moves out of range.
Mustonen fails with a takedown attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Octopulus.
Octopulus slaps away a takedown attempt from Mustonen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Octopulus dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mustonen. That did some damage!
Decent striking displayed by Octopulus there.
Mustonen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Octopulus throws a solid leg kick but Mustonen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Octopulus.
Octopulus takes a swing at Mustonen's ribcage but misses.
Mustonen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Octopulus defends it nicely.

Mustonen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Octopulus moves out of range of the body kick from Mustonen.
Mustonen closes the distance and clinches up with Octopulus, looking for a takedown. Mustonen pushes Octopulus against the cage but Octopulus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mustonen instigates a clinch.
Mustonen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Octopulus walks away with a smile on his face. Mustonen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mustonen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Octopulus pinned against the cage. Octopulus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Octopulus connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mustonen's hands.
Octopulus misses the shot to the body.
Octopulus misses with a hook.

Mustonen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Octopulus's guard.
Octopulus wants to get back to his feet but Mustonen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mustonen passes into half guard.
Octopulus is refusing to be controlled, as Mustonen sits in half guard.

Octopulus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Octopulus is looking to escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mustonen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mustonen is keen to just control but Octopulus is a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Octopulus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mustonen is one step ahead there.
Mustonen tries to free his leg and advance position but Octopulus is retaining full guard.
Mustonen trying to control the position from guard on top but Octopulus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mustonen is looking to pass into half guard but Octopulus pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Octopulus is in guard.

Octopulus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Octopulus working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mustonen's head.

Mustonen is looking for a triangle but Octopulus pushes his legs off easily.
Octopulus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Octopulus connects with a nice short shot to Mustonen's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Octopulus winds up and cracks Mustonen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mustonen is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Octopulus looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Oh Mustonen is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Octopulus lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Mustonen quite badly. Mustonen pulls Octopulus in close trying to recover. Octopulus postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Mustonen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Mustonen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
