Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Kruller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wayne Perkins has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wayne Perkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karl Kruller!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kruller looking to score a takedown here. Perkins is defending well but Kruller drives through and ends up in Perkins's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Perkins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kruller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perkins is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perkins can't keep his opponent in guard - Kruller advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Perkins wants to control but Kruller is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kruller takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kruller wants to free his trapped foot but Perkins is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perkins tries to get to full guard but Kruller has control of the leg.
Kruller is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Kruller wants to pass to mount but Perkins is defending the position.
Perkins tries to kick Kruller off but Kruller keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Perkins keeping moving, preventing Kruller from controlling successfully.
Kruller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Perkins is proving hard to escape from.
Kruller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Perkins pulls Kruller in close to prevent any damage.

Kruller tries to free his leg and advance position but Perkins is retaining full guard.

Perkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kruller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kruller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kruller wants to control from the top but Perkins keeps moving.
Kruller is looking to work some ground and pound but Perkins has wrist control.
Perkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kruller is pushing down on Perkins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Perkins is fighting to maintain full guard but Kruller has managed to sneak the leg through.
It looks like Kruller is going to stand back up.
Kruller wants to pass the guard but Perkins is defending well.
Kruller is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Perkins manages to get to full guard.

Kruller is working Perkins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Perkins is on top in guard.
Perkins forces his way into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kruller tries to kick Perkins off but Perkins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Perkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perkins wants to stand up but Kruller has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Perkins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Kruller dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kruller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Perkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kruller as he avoids it easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Perkins checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Kruller stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kruller wants it to stay on the feet.
Perkins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Perkins is working for takedown but Kruller is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Perkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kruller is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Perkins has managed to free his arm - good work.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kruller lands a nice short elbow.
Perkins is not content to let Kruller control the position.
Perkins gets back to full guard.
Perkins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Kruller is breathing heavily.
Perkins is looking to stand up but Kruller isn't so interested in that idea.
Kruller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kruller shoots in and drives through. Perkins sprawls well.
Kruller throws a head kick but Perkins moves out of range.
Perkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kruller closes the distance and pushes Perkins back into the cage.

Kruller lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kruller stalling away here and it's allowed Perkins to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Karl Kruller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Kruller throws his legs up looking for a submission but Perkins uses it to pass to side control.
Perkins tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kruller's legs.
Kruller takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Perkins is working hard here to advance position.
Kruller wants to get back to his feet but Perkins is dominant here and he's now got Kruller's back!

Perkins is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Kruller with him. Kruller is trying to defend but Perkins has an arm under the chin now! Kruller grimaces and is forced to tap out!
