Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otto Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Sobieski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams. Sobieski is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kto Cię Obroni Polsko. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otto Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Sobieski!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sobieski is defended easily by Jokinen.
Jokinen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A jab from Jokinen does it's job there.
A head kick from Sobieski lands but Jokinen takes it in his stride.
Nice shot lands for Jokinen.
Jokinen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sobieski's calf.
Sobieski throws a nice looking combination but Jokinen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab lands there for Jokinen.
Sobieski throws a head kick but Jokinen moves out of range.
Jokinen takes a swing at Sobieski's ribcage but misses.
A shot to the body from Jokinen misses

and Sobieski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jokinen's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sobieski pushes down on Jokinen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jokinen wants to improve his position but Sobieski is controlling well.
Sobieski wants to free his trapped foot but Jokinen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sobieski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sobieski misses with a head shot. Jokinen uses the momentum to regain guard.

Sobieski wants to control from the top but Jokinen keeps moving.

Jokinen has his foot on Sobieski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sobieski works his way back into a safe position though.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sobieski working his ground and pound in the gym.

Sobieski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jokinen is just riding it out for now. Sobieski eventually gives up the hold.
Sobieski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jokinen is pressing down on Sobieski's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sobieski lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Sobieski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jokinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sobieski postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jokinen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jokinen wants to control but Sobieski passes into side.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

You can see the frustration on Jokinen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sobieski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sobieski lands a nice short elbow.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sobieski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jokinen defends it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sobieski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Sobieski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Jokinen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jokinen throws the left hand but Sobieski avoids the punch easily.
Jokinen wants to slow Sobieski down by chopping away at his legs.
Jokinen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jokinen misses with a head kick.
Jokinen throws a push kick but Sobieski slaps the foot to one side.
Jokinen tries to land a front kick but Sobieski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sobieski shoots in for a takedown but Jokinen shows good takedown defense.

Jokinen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sobieski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sobieski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jokinen manages to get himself to full guard.

Jokinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sobieski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sobieski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sobieski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
