The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamland keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nero.
Nero takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nero moves out of range as Tamland strikes.
Tamland throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tamland connects with a single shot there.
A lazy left from Nero finds it's target.
Tamland looks to land a body kick but Nero moved away.
Good work by Tamland as he checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tamland throws a hook but Nero blocks it.
Nero gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Tamland counters with a leg kick.

Brick Tamland is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tamland throws a solid leg kick but Nero takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tamland.
Tamland uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nero.
Tamland takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tamland comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Tamland digs a good body shot into Nero's ribs.
Nero tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tamland was well out of range. Poor timing from Nero.
A lazy left from Nero finds it's target.
Nero uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tamland.
Tamland misses the shot to the body.
Tamland throws a hook to the side of Nero's head but Nero sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tamland misses with a leg kick.

An inside leg kick lands from Tamland.
Tamland tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nero swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tamland misses with a wild body shot.
Brick Tamland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nero thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nero throws the left hand but Tamland avoids the punch easily.
Tamland misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tamland ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nero with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tamland to score with a decent uppercut.
A swing and a miss from Nero.
Nero scores with a jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tamland fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nero.
Tamland throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brick Tamland dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Tamland throws a hook but Nero avoids it easily.
Nero bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tamland wants to control but Nero postures up.
Tamland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nero is looking to take a break and control but Tamland is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nero fails to land a wild elbow strike.
An elbow from Nero crashes against the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tamland tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nero creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tamland sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Nero looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Nero landing strikes.
Tamland tries to buck Nero off but Nero is having none of it.

Tamland wants to control but Nero postures up.

Tamland is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nero misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The strikes coming from Nero are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nero in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Tamland is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
