PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sir Jecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yusuke Urameshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jecht comes into the arena with The Lumberjack blaring out of the sound system. Urameshi is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Styles P & Uncle Murda - Poppin Bottle. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sir Jecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yusuke Urameshi!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urameshi throws a left and a right that both miss

and Jecht counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Urameshi's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Urameshi is trying to control the position but Jecht postures up.
Urameshi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jecht. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jecht advances to half guard.
Urameshi is trying to stand.
Urameshi wants to get back to full guard.
Jecht sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Urameshi won't allow Jecht to pass to mount.
Urameshi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Urameshi trying to hold on to Jecht's head to control him but Jecht postures up.
Jecht really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jecht not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Urameshi is trying to maintain the position but Jecht is very close to passing his half guard.
Jecht prevents Urameshi from standing back up.

Yusuke Urameshi has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A head kick by Urameshi misses

and Jecht counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jecht drops an elbow to the side of Urameshi's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Urameshi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jecht's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jecht's back!

Jecht rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Urameshi trying to control the action but Jecht is working from the bottom.
Urameshi misses with a head shot. Jecht uses the momentum to regain guard.
Jecht not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jecht is really struggling to control Urameshi but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Jecht looking for a sweep. Not yet Jecht, not yet.
Jecht has his hands on Urameshi's head, controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Urameshi wants to control from the top but Jecht keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sir Jecht.
Urameshi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jecht's head.
Jecht takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Urameshi checks a leg kick.
A nice combination there by Jecht.
Yusuke Urameshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jecht lands a slapping body shot.
Jecht takes a swing at Urameshi's ribcage but misses.
A left and a right from Urameshi both land. Nice combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jecht cracks Urameshi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Urameshi tries a head kick but it misses.
Urameshi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Urameshi checks the leg kick.
Urameshi scores with a hook to the body. Jecht takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Urameshi throws a head kick but Jecht moves out of range.
Urameshi lands with a slapping head kick.
Urameshi looks to score with a jab to the body but Jecht is just out of range.
Jecht throws a front kick aimed at Urameshi's knee but Urameshi avoids it well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jecht.
Urameshi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jecht throws a series of punches but Urameshi avoids them all with ease.
Jecht shoots for a double leg takedown but Urameshi sprawls well. He's pushed Jecht's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Urameshi moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Jecht takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Jecht drops his hands momentarily and Urameshi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


Jecht is rocked!
Urameshi grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Jecht takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Urameshi cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Yusuke Urameshi!
After winning the bout, Yusuke Urameshi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
