Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Wilshere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Karlsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Home by BZ's. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilshere scores with a body shot.
Karlsen moves in looking to clinch but Wilshere pushes him off.
Wilshere shoots for a double leg takedown but Karlsen sprawls well. He's pushed Wilshere's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Karlsen moves into the clinch.
Wilshere is looking to control Karlsen's arms but Karlsen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wilshere has his back to the cage.
Karlsen lands an elbow just above Wilshere 's eye.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Karlsen tries to score a body lock takedown but Wilshere shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Wilshere blocks an elbow strike.
Wilshere fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wilshere on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Karlsen with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Wilshere lands a body shot.

Wilshere is fighting off a takedown attempt but Karlsen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wilshere to the mat. Wilshere regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Karlsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilshere is retaining full guard.
Karlsen looks gassed!
Wilshere controls Karlsen momentarily but Karlsen frees himself.

Wilshere had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Karlsen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wilshere Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Karlsen's back instead.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wilshere struggling to keep hold of the position.

Karlsen breaks Wilshere's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Karlsen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wilshere looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wilshere looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wilshere!

Wilshere looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karlsen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Karlsen is looking for a sweep. Wilshere is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Karlsen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Karlsen gets full guard.
Wilshere passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Karlsen tries to buck Wilshere off but Wilshere is having none of it.
Karlsen looking for a sweep but Wilshere has passed into full mount! Oh no!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wilshere jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Karlsen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Karlsen and Wilshere has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Karlsen gets back to half guard.
Karlsen wants to improve his position but Wilshere is controlling well.
Wilshere trying to control from Karlsen's half guard. Karlsen has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Wilshere trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Karlsen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wilshere not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wilshere is sitting in close to Karlsen's body. Karlsen has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Wilshere is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Wilshere is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Karlsen.
