Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Rollins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joseph pushes Rollins up against the cage in a clinch.
Rollins's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

and Joseph counters with a shoot takedown. Rollins fights it but they end up in guard.
Shelton Joseph has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Rollins.

Rollins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Joseph defends well.
Joseph knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rollins on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joseph stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rollins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rollins manages to work his way to half guard, despite Joseph's best efforts.

Rollins has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Joseph is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rollins.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Shelton Joseph will probably get the nod.

Shelton Joseph overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rollins is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rollins has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Joseph! Can he survive? No! He's out! Rollins gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
