Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto Kim!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Matrix!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Kim.
Matrix scores with a jab to the jaw.
Matrix misses with a lunging right hand

and Kim counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Matrix is not content to let Kim control the position.
Matrix is looking for a sweep.

Kim is trying to get an arm triangle but Matrix is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Matrix's face as Kim controls the position.
Matrix is trying to control Kim's posture but Kim avoids it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matrix is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kim's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kim's back!

You can see the frustration on Kim's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kim is looking to control Matrix's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kim avoid being mounted?

Matrix is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Matrix tries to bench press Kim off him but Kim keeps the position.

Matrix is not content to let Kim control the position.
Matrix tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kim wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim is looking to take a break and control but Matrix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kim stuffs the takedown attempt from Matrix. Matrix gets slowly back to his feet.
Matrix lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Matrix drops his hands momentarily and Kim takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Matrix thuds his right hand into Kim's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kim wants to slow Matrix down by chopping away at his legs.
Kim darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Matrix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kim defending well as Matrix loads up on a big left hand.

Matrix takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kim misses with a head kick.
Matrix throws a lazy right hand but Kim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kim lands a jab.
A slow jab from Matrix misses its intended target.
Matrix avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Matrix fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.
Kim throws a push kick but Matrix slaps the foot to one side.
Matrix tries for a takedown but Kim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kim throws a low kick but Matrix avoids it.
Kim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kim takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Matrix steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kim.
Matrix throws a leg kick

and Kim counters with a nice double leg into side control. Matrix won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matrix is looking to reverse the position.
Kim misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kim wants to control but Matrix is keeping him busy.
Matrix is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Kim lands a nice forearm strike.
Kim working the ground and pound from side control.
The strikes coming from Kim are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Matrix is looking for a sweep.

Matrix on the wrong end of some ground and pound.


Matrix is rocked!
Kim wants to control but Matrix is keeping him busy.
Matrix is still in real trouble! Can Kim finish him?
Matrix tries to improve position but can't.
Kim lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Matrix down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim lands a strong strike to the head of Matrix. That's dazed him! Kim looking to finish here. Matrix is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kim lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roberto Kim!
