Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atilla Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chandler comes into the arena with Trapt - Headstrong blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Khan's choice of entrance music: Killing In The Name. The key to victory for James Chandler has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan looks to clinch
and Chandler moves into the clinch.
Chandler misses with a body punch.
Khan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Khan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Chandler gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chandler tries to break free but Khan pushes him back against the cage.

Chandler tries a body shot but Khan blocks it.
Chandler tries to land knees in the clinch but Khan avoids the damage to the body.
Nice body punch from Chandler - that landed with a thud.
Khan is looking for a takedown.

James Chandler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Atilla Khan.

Chandler drops back looking for a leg! Khan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Khan manages to kick Chandler off! Chandler jumps back into Khan's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that James Chandler will probably get the nod.

Chandler lands with a nice combination. Khan backs away looking to recover.

and Chandler counters with a straight right hand.

Khan is trying to stand up here but Chandler is controlling him well.
Chandler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Chandler is pressing down on Khan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Khan is holding on for now.

Chandler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Khan has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chandler is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chandler goes for a double leg but Khan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Khan continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Chandler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
