These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackburn falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Tran as Blackburn shoots in.
Tran keeps the fight on the outside.
Tran has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blackburn is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Blackburn misses with a straight right.
Blackburn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tran circles away quickly and effectively.
Blackburn needs to keep his hands up - Tran had a free shot at his head there.
Tran works over Blackburn's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Charles Blackburn has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A jab-cross combination lands for Tran and sends Blackburn crashing to the mat! Tran follows him down to the mat - Blackburn regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tran stands up out of the half guard.
Tran circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Blackburn to the canvas! Blackburn doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Tran keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Jerzy Tran was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
