Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Havener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao GuardaChuva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GuardaChuva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The rebirth. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GuardaChuva shoots for a takedown but Havener saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

GuardaChuva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Havener manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Havener is looking for a triangle but GuardaChuva pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
GuardaChuva throws a big elbow that misses.
GuardaChuva won't allow Havener to get back to his feet.
GuardaChuva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
GuardaChuva is looking to work some ground and pound but Havener has wrist control.
GuardaChuva distracts Havener with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Havener working for a triangle but GuardaChuva defends it easily.
GuardaChuva is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
GuardaChuva lands a couple of digs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Havener controls GuardaChuva momentarily but GuardaChuva frees himself.

Havener has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. GuardaChuva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Havener.

GuardaChuva connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Havener some visible discomfort.
Havener taking punishment in the form of punches.
GuardaChuva cracks Havener with a big right hand but Havener just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Havener tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but GuardaChuva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw GuardaChuva working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
GuardaChuva working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Havener is rocked!
GuardaChuva lands a strong strike to the head of Havener. That's dazed him! GuardaChuva looking to finish here. Havener is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - GuardaChuva lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
