And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quentin DeBramalo!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West slips a jab from DeBramalo.
West misses with a head kick.
West moves away from the strike by DeBramalo.
DeBramalo misses with a low kick as West jumps back.
DeBramalo throws a right and a left that West avoids nicely.
West slips a straight right by DeBramalo.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts DeBramalo, as that shot connected.

DeBramalo gets caught flat footed, as West shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

West is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, DeBramalo has managed to free his arm - good work.

DeBramalo won't allow West to pass to mount.
West wants to stand up but DeBramalo has a hold of him and won't allow it.
West slips a nice elbow through DeBramalo's hands, connecting with DeBramalo's forehead.

We're going to have a standup here because Joel West wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

DeBramalo thows a body shot but no joy.
West displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as DeBramalo throws out the jab.

West shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

West has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
DeBramalo throws out a loose jab but West uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


West tries to close the distance and clinch but DeBramalo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
DeBramalo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but West moves away.

DeBramalo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
DeBramalo throws a jab when West was well out of range.
Sloppy strikes from West. Those never looked like landing.

West closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into DeBramalo's guard.
West controls from within his opponent's guard.
West working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

West throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
West sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed DeBramalo's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joel West just wasn't active enough.
West takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

West shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in DeBramalo's guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. West lands a nice short elbow.
DeBramalo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with West. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
West is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeBramalo is letting West control him for a moment.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



West drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
West pushes down on DeBramalo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

West wants to work for an arm triangle but DeBramalo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

West looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
West is taking a breather. DeBramalo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
