Araujo comes to the cage accompanied by Who Shot Ya?. King is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chase and Status- No Problem. Luiz Araujo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luiz Araujo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rexford King!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Araujo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.

King closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Araujo is looking to reverse the position.

King wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Araujo, who protects the arm well.
Araujo is looking for a sweep.
Araujo struggling a bit here.
King trying to control the position but Araujo is working away.
King working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
King trying to control the position but Araujo is working away.
Araujo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Araujo is looking for a sweep.
King in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Araujo wants to control but King postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King wants to control but Araujo is keeping him busy.

King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Araujo tries to improve position but can't.
Araujo sneaks back into half guard.
Araujo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Araujo is not content to let King control the position.
Araujo wants to get back to full guard.

Araujo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but King pulls his head out easily.
Araujo moves into full guard.
King sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Araujo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King works a leg free and moves into half guard.

King is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Araujo is just riding it out for now. King eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King trying to control from half guard but Araujo is working away.
King is just content to waste time from the top position. Araujo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Araujo is trying to control the position but King postures up.
King wants to pass the guard but Araujo is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Araujo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. King manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

King drops back, looking for a kneebar! Araujo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Araujo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Araujo!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Araujo slows the pace down.
King wants to control but Araujo postures up.
Araujo trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on King's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Araujo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but King is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
King wants to control but Araujo postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luiz Araujo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



King looking to score a takedown here. Araujo is defending well but King drives through and ends up in Araujo's guard.
King trying to control but Araujo is working from the bottom.

King avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Araujo is looking to cinch up a triangle. King throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Araujo's body to avoid the submission. Araujo has instead reached around King's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Araujo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Luiz Araujo!
Luiz Araujo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
