Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Melcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Menezes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Melcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Menezes!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Menezes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Menezes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Melcher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Melcher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Menezes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Melcher's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Melcher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Menezes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Melcher.

I would just about give that final round to Wanderlei Menezes.
