The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Rice. Those never looked like landing.
Nakamara shoots for a takedown but Rice saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rice moves out of range of the body kick from Nakamara .
Nakamara tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rice sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nakamara somewhat.
Rice fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nakamara shoots for a double leg takedown but Rice sprawls well. He's pushed Nakamara 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shelton Rice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiyato Nakamara .
Rice fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rice looks for a takedown but Nakamara sprawls well.

Nakamara dives in and scores a takedown into Rice's guard.
Nakamara is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Rice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakamara on the ground.

Rice wants to clinch up but Nakamara keeps it at a distance.

Nakamara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rice tries a head kick but it misses.

Nakamara shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rice's guard.

Nakamara has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rice is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nakamara yanks on the arm and Rice is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nakamara .
