Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robby Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matheus Antonio!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avery shoots in and gets a takedown into Antonio's guard.
Antonio wants to stand and escape but Avery is having none of it.
Antonio not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Antonio is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Avery manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Antonio manages to get himself to full guard.

Robby Avery overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Avery got a little sloppy there for a moment and Antonio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avery has managed to get both his arms back between Antonio's legs - danger averted.

and Avery counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Avery shoots in for a takedown but Antonio shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robby Avery will probably get the nod.

Robby Avery is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Robby Avery.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Avery, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
