PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny White!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract White.
Ramirez cracks White with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
White walks into a jab.

White fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ramirez sprawls well initially but White persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
White wants to pass to mount but Ramirez is defending the position.
White is looking to stall here but Ramirez recovers full guard.
Ramirez looking for a sweep. Not yet Ramirez, not yet.
White passes Ramirez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

White wants to work for an arm triangle but Ramirez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
White frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

White trying to control but Ramirez is having none of it.
White controlling the pace for now.

White wants to finish this one by submission but Ramirez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from White.
Ramirez is in a horrible position here. White smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

A nice elbow there by White.
White content just to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ramirez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ramirez and White has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

White goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ramirez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for White but great work by Ramirez.
White manages to get back to half guard.
Ramirez wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working.

White slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now White is on top in guard.
White sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ramirez's guard.

White is working for a kimura but Ramirez is defending it quite comfortably.

White passes the guard and advances to mount!
White wants to control the pace but Ramirez is squirming around nicely.
Ramirez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny White dominated that round.

White tries to land a leg kick but Ramirez saw it coming and moves away.
Ramirez throws a body punch but White moves out of range.
White is looking to chop away at Ramirez's legs.
Ramirez fails to land with a series of punches.

White drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
White passes into half guard.
White tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramirez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
White moves into full mount! Ramirez won't be happy about that!
White lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ramirez hang on?

White looking for a guillotine from mount but Ramirez is having none of it.

White with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
White is in the full mount, landing strikes.
White trying to control but he's not successful this time.
White pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

White looking to secure an arm triangle but Ramirez defends it well.

White in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

White is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ramirez is surviving well by controlling White's body position as best he can.
White is landing with some decent strikes but Ramirez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
White landing strikes, looking to finish!
White pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

White goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ramirez turns into him and now he's in White's guard.

White is looking to cinch up a triangle. Ramirez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to White's body to avoid the submission. White has instead reached around Ramirez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! White arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Danny White!
A very excited looking Danny White rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
