Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dudley Bradshaw!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruden swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ruden throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Bradshaw throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Ruden counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ruden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ruden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bradshaw keeps working.
Ruden is pressing down on Bradshaw's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bradshaw is holding on for now.
Ruden wants to take a breather but Bradshaw is having none of it.
Well, if Ruden is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ruden is thwarting Bradshaw's attempts to control the position.
Bradshaw is controlling Ruden's trapped leg to prevent Ruden from advancing to side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bradshaw fails with the takedown
and Bradshaw takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ruden has been working on his boxing with his coaches at KO Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Bradshaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Ruden sprawls well. He's pushed Bradshaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bradshaw shoots in but Ruden avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Joe Ruden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dudley Bradshaw.
Bradshaw shoots in looking for a takedown but Ruden manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bradshaw's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ruden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bradshaw regains half guard, as Ruden was trying to land strikes.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ruden connects with a nice short shot to Bradshaw's temple.

Bradshaw wants to control but Ruden is keeping busy.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bradshaw has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Ruden seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bradshaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ruden is trying to keep Bradshaw in close.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Ruden counters with a series of strikes. Bradshaw will be more careful next time no doubt.

Bradshaw shoots in for a takedown but Ruden shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ruden ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bradshaw with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ruden to score with a decent uppercut.

Ruden closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bradshaw to the mat! Bradshaw manages to get full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bradshaw holds on and takes a little breather.

Ruden winds up and cracks Bradshaw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bradshaw is looking for a sweep. Ruden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bradshaw tries to lock up and control but Ruden gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

BOOM! Ruden connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Ruden lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Bradshaw wants to hold on but Ruden pushes him away.
The referee warns Bradshaw that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ruden fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Bradshaw takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ruden's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
