PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Fischer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikola Fischer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Bruce!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce is looking to clinch but Fischer is avoiding it.
Fischer throws a leg kick that misses.
Fischer looks to throw the jab but Bruce is out of range.
Bruce tries to clinch up but Fischer circles away and keeps his distance.
Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fischer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch but Fischer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bruce throws a hook but Fischer blocks it.
Bruce tries to clinch there but Fischer circles away.
Fischer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bruce sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bruce tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Fischer to counter with a crisp jab.
Fischer catches Bruce with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Bruce is looking to clinch.
Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fischer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bruce tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fischer getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Fischer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bruce.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bruce has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fischer finds it's way round the side to connect with Bruce's head.

Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fischer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bruce closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Bruce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fischer tries to break free but Bruce pushes him back against the ropes.

Fischer breaks the clinch.
Fischer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bruce moves away.
Fischer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bruce.
Bruce tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bruce tries to clinch up.
Fischer looks to score with a jab to the body but Bruce is just out of range.
Fischer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bruce.
Bruce tries to clinch there but Fischer circles away.
A jab from Bruce misses.
Bruce looks to land a left hand but Fischer moved out of range nicely.

Bruce has Fischer up against the ropes in a clinch.
Fischer is trying to break the clinch but Bruce is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fischer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Bruce misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bruce has Fischer pressed against the ropes, preventing Fischer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bruce pulls guard.
Fischer postures up.
Bruce looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fischer is one step ahead there.
Bruce lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fischer!
Fischer has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Bruce's lack of action.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Fischer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bruce is working away from the top position though.
Fischer is trying to stand.

Fischer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fischer is trying to force a seperation but Bruce has the dominant position.

Bruce manages to break the clinch.
Bruce looks to clinch
and Fischer counters with a stiff right hand.
Bruce fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fischer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Fischer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Bruce moves into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bruce struggles to land a body shot inside as Fischer controls his hands.

Fischer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Fischer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fischer throws a hook but Bruce avoids it easily.
Fischer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bruce tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Fischer counters with a nice body shot.
Fischer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fischer throws a good cross that connects.
Bruce tries to clinch but Fischer is having none of it.
Bruce bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bruce doesn't manage to clinch there - Fischer circles away.
Robert Bruce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
and Bruce counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Fischer! He's just covering up as Bruce starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Bruce!
Robert Bruce very nearly forgot to thank Happy Pills 159Q - Laundry 80% amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
