Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Delmar Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Delmar Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joel West!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Robbins pinned against the cage. Robbins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Joel West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

West shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robbins is trying to defend but West finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
West tries to stand and escape but Robbins is controlling the position.
West trying to control the action but Robbins is working from the bottom.

West is looking for a kimura but Robbins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for West to get the leverage.
West is looking to take a break and control but Robbins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
West content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joel West.
Robbins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Robbins fakes the leg kick and cracks West in the body.
West tries to clinch up but Robbins circles away and keeps his distance.
Robbins tries for a takedown but West sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Robbins closes the distance and clinches up with West, looking for a takedown. Robbins pushes West against the cage but West circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Delmar Robbins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

West drives through with a takedown into Robbins's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Robbins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for West on the ground.
West showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Robbins wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

West is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Robbins is not content to let West control the position.

West is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Robbins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Robbins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
West trying to control the action but Robbins is working from the bottom.
West wants to stand but Robbins is controlling his arm.

Robbins is letting West control him for a moment.
Robbins can't do much from the bottom here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
West throws a strike aimed at the side of Robbins's head but Robbins avoids it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

West has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
West tries to clinch but Robbins is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Robbins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Robbins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but West paws at him with a jab and circles away.

West looking to score a takedown here. Robbins is defending well but West drives through and ends up in Robbins's guard.
West tries to free his leg and advance position but Robbins is retaining full guard.

West slips nicely into half guard.

West is looking for a kimura but Robbins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for West to get the leverage.
Robbins won't allow West to pass to mount.
Robbins looks like he's trying to stand up.
Robbins is staying active underneath West, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Robbins wants to improve his position but West is controlling well.
West tries to pass the half guard into mount. Robbins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Still in half guard, West seems content to control.
West thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
West prevents Robbins from improving his position.
West seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
West frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
West trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Robbins wants to hold on but West pushes him away.
West wants to stand but Robbins is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Robbins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
West works his way into full mount!
Robbins stops West from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Robbins is bucking up trying to escape but West cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Robbins is rocked!
West tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Oh Robbins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
West looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Robbins covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
