Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rowan Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greco Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atkinson comes to the ring accompanied by Set to Fail. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Greco Roman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roman is trying to get an arm triangle but Atkinson is defending well.
My spies in Rollins Elite Gym inform me that Roman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Atkinson is trying to buck Roman off.
Atkinson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from Atkinson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Roman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atkinson keeps working.
Atkinson tries to bench press Roman off him but Roman keeps the position.
Atkinson is working hard here to advance position.
Roman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Roman trying to control the action but Atkinson is working from the bottom.
Atkinson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Roman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Roman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
You can see the frustration on Atkinson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Roman is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Atkinson is trying to escape and Roman transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Atkinson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Roman! Very nice indeed!

Greco Roman is the new lightweight champion!
A very excited looking Greco Roman rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
