PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Vyacheslav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen Freestyler as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov thumps Ryan with a low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Ryan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Volkov tries to land a front kick but Ryan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Volkov counters with a nice body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Volkov enables Ryan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Volkov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Volkov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ryan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ryan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Maxim Vyacheslav Volkov will probably get the nod.
