PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bastian Nokia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uriah Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nokia is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall keeps Nokia at a distance using the push kick.
Nokia is breathing heavily.

Hall is looking to clinch but Nokia is avoiding it.

Crunch! Hall slams his shin into Nokia's torso.
Hall wants to clinch up but Nokia keeps it at a distance.

Hall is trying to trip Nokia. He has hold of a leg but Nokia is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hall persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Hall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nokia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nokia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nokia is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hall is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Nokia to the mat. Nokia regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Hall pulls guard effortlessly.
Hall wants to stand and escape but Nokia is having none of it.
Uriah Hall has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hall manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Hall with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Hall turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hall manages to end up in side control.

Hall sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nokia is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Hall tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Hall wants to control but Nokia is keeping him busy.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hall decides to stand back up. Hall steps back and let's Nokia get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uriah Hall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Hall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nokia swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nokia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Hall lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nokia will feel that in the morning.

Hall connects with a nasty looking knee right to Nokia's face.

Hall is looking to stand up but Nokia isn't so interested in that idea.
Hall wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nokia manages to pass to side control.

Hall pushes Nokia off looking to stand but Nokia dives back in and keeps control.
Hall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Uriah Hall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Uriah Hall wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nokia circles away from the clinch attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hall misses with a head kick.

Hall moves into the clinch successfully.
Hall pressing his opponent against the cage.

Hall manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bastian Nokia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nokia is looking to work some ground and pound but Hall has wrist control.

Uriah Hall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
