PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaru Shimabukuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dux comes into the arena with Lose My Mind blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Shimabukuro's choice of entrance music: Warrior. John Dux has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Shimabukuro!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux avoids the head kick by Shimabukuro.
Shimabukuro throws a looping overhand right but Dux ducks down to avoid it.

Dux really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dux takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Shimabukuro pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dux back to the cage. Shimabukuro follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Masaru Shimabukuro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shimabukuro is rocked!
Dux lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Shimabukuro falls backwards - clearly groggy! Dux dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Dux!
During a confident post fight interview, John Dux thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Masaru Shimabukuro spoke after the fight, saying 'Don't know what to say. I'm not gonna make any excuses, tonight he was just better than me. But believe me, i WILL be back.'.
