PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tristan Burt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Zielinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zielinski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Solar/Białas - Nagapiłem się kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tristan Burt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Zielinski!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Zielinski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Zielinski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burt napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Zielinski controlling the position.

Zielinski goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Burt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Zielinski's guard! Nice work there by Burt!
Burt wants to control from the top but Zielinski keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burt won't allow Zielinski to sweep him here.
Burt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burt engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Burt wants to stand but Zielinski has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Tristan Burt has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A head kick misses from Zielinski.
A slapping body kick lands there for Zielinski.
Burt wants to clinch.
Burt circles away from the clinch attempt
and Zielinski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zielinski blocks a head kick by Burt.
Burt dodges the punch combination from Zielinski.

Burt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Zielinski stands and steps away. Burt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burt misses with a series of wild punches.
Burt circles away from the clinch attempt
and Burt counters with a nice body shot.
Burt closes the distance and clinches up with Zielinski, looking for a takedown. Burt pushes Zielinski against the cage but Zielinski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Zielinski moves in looking to clinch but Burt pushes him off.
Burt throws a front kick aimed at Zielinski's knee but Zielinski avoids it well.

Burt clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Zielinski drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Zielinski is looking to control Burt's arms but Burt gets an underhook and turns him. Now Zielinski has his back to the cage.
Burt is trying to drag Zielinski to the mat but Zielinski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tristan Burt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice body punch from Zielinski.
Burt is trying to pull guard but Zielinski turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Zielinski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zielinski circles away.
Burt is breathing heavily.

Zielinski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burt's guard.
Zielinski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Zielinski is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Zielinski wanted to stand there but Burt had control of the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Albert Zielinski hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Burt counters with a nice body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Zielinski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Burt's guard.
Burt wants to sweep here but Zielinski controlling him for the moment.
Zielinski wants to control from the top but Burt keeps moving.
Burt has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Albert Zielinski was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Zielinski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Burt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zielinski tries to avoid it but Burt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zielinski to the ground. Zielinski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Zielinski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Burt has a hand on Zielinski's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Zielinski takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Burt tries to hold on but Zielinski pushes him away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zielinski is trying to control here but Burt has managed to regain half guard.

Burt looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Zielinski pushes past his half guard into mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zielinski lands a couple of good shots and Burt has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Burt is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Zielinski.

Even with his hooks in, Zielinski manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Zielinski has Burt flattened out and is raining down punches.
Albert Zielinski has got the better of the ground game so far.

Zielinski is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Zielinski tries to keep control of the position but Burt is staying busy.

Zielinski is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Burt is defending well though. Zielinski let's go of the attempt for now.

Zielinski goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Burt escapes and is now in half guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burt tries to stand and escape but Zielinski is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Albert Zielinski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Zielinski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zielinski missing with a left hand there. Burt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Burt closes the distance and pushes Zielinski back into the cage.
Zielinski keeps control of Burt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Burt is trying to drag Zielinski to the mat but Zielinski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Zielinski jumps guard but Burt stands there with Zielinski around his waist. Zielinski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Burt's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Zielinski is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Burt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tristan Burt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albert Zielinski.

Burt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Zielinski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Zielinski has escaped and now he's on top!

Zielinski shoots for a double leg takedown but Burt sprawls well. He's pushed Zielinski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zielinski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Burt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Zielinski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burt, pushing him back against the cage.
Zielinski is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Zielinski is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Burt has denied him.

Zielinski manages to pull guard.
Burt is stalling in the full guard.

Burt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Zielinski throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Zielinski is looking to sweep but instead, Burt has passed into half guard.
Burt is thwarting Zielinski's attempts to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Burt is trying to control the action in half guard but Zielinski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Tristan Burt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Albert Zielinski is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Zielinski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

I would just about give that final round to Albert Zielinski.
Well Zielinski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Albert Zielinski decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
