Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Grant Brophy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Hayes!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes swinging wildly here.
Hayes looks to land a right hand but Brophy moved out of range.
Brophy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hayes checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Brophy takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Hayes moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hayes - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Brophy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Hayes breaks from the clinch.
Hayes misses with a hook. Brophy ducked under it nicely.
Brophy moves out of range of the strikes.
Hayes cracks Brophy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A slow jab from Hayes misses its intended target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brophy throws a sloppy head kick and Hayes moves out of range easily.

Brophy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hayes throws a right hand that Brophy ducks under and follows up with a left that Brophy also avoids with ease.
Brophy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hayes throws a looping overhand right but Brophy ducks down to avoid it.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hayes. Brophy does a little dance to reset his feet.

Brophy moves into range and clinches up with Hayes.
Hayes is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Brophy is trying to break free.

The crowd are getting on Hayes's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hayes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brophy wants to stand and escape but Hayes is having none of it.
Oh Brophy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hayes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gary Hayes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
